Our Programs

Our 52-bed temporary emergency shelter in Warrenton, VA, helps nearly 350 people a year. This safe, child-friendly facility is overseen by a dedicated team prepared to accommodate individuals and families in need of immediate accommodations 24/7.  For those families needing extended assistance, Family Shelter Services' transitional housing program provides longer-term supports and housing. 

 

In addition to providing shelter, both the temporary emergency and transitional housing programs provide participants with crucial life skills sessions and opportunities related to financial literacy, employment, and health and well-being, all designed to increase self-sufficiency. Our team of staff and community volunteers maintain a safe environment for our participants focused on accountability and responsibility with dignity and hope.

ADMISSION POLICIES​

Please call 540.351.0130 to complete a pre-screening for admission into the Emergency Shelter. Photo identification is required for admission and all potential shelter intakes will be subject to a criminal history background check.

ADMISSION POLICIES​

Please call 540.216.7145 for more information or to request an application. The minimum requirements every applicant must meet to be considered for the program are the following:

 

  • Single parents or couples must have minor children in their custody.

  • Must have a vehicle

  • All adults in the household must be employed a minimum of 35 hours a week.

  • Be verifiably homeless (This can be accomplished with a letter from a case manager, social worker, family member or friend who can testify to your current circumstances)
