Join us for the Fifth Annual Fist Bump 5K! This event directly benefits Family Shelter Services, which provides temporary shelter and transitional housing for those in need. This run or walk is family, stroller and leashed pet-friendly on a 100% paved trail, utilizing the Fauquier County Parks & Rec's Brookside Community Trail. Plan to eat breakfast and/or lunch by taking advantage of The Happy Family Ranch Food Truck that will be on-site until 11:30am.

For nearly 40 years, Family Shelter Services (FSS) has provided temporary emergency shelter and transitional housing programs and support services to vulnerable and homeless individuals and families throughout the region. FSS is committed to offering a hand up to those who need it, breaking the cycle of homelessness and transforming lives. FSS depends on the generosity of individuals, community groups and local businesses for suppport to keep its doors open. Family Shelter Services is a charitable non-profit organization in accordance with section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. It receives no Federal funding. FSS supports almost 350 individuals a year through its programs and services at its 52-bed Temporary Emergency Shelter in Warrenton, VA, which operates 24/7, and through its Transitional Housing Community in Vint Hill, VA, which includes twenty-two 3-bedroom housing units.
